SHOPPING IN EGYPT

Cairo is one of the famous places in Egypt which have many shopping centers. It is located in and around Cairo. Egyptian products are so varied and can meet various tastes and different levels of in come. It also competes international standards

Egypt is a wonderland of shopping opportunities. One of the great delights of Egypt is the shopping! However, there are many pitfalls: from learning how to bargain to knowing where the best places are to buy certain goods; from understanding Arabic price tickets to getting the insider knowledge as to which are the best shops to choose. Souq al-Goma'a (Friday Market) is a very popular market where visitors of all class can find goods at much cheaper prices. From kitchen utensils and footwear to furniture. One of the best and the most entertaining places to buy fabric is the Wekalat Al-Balah market again of Cairo

Specific products of Egypt includes baskets, belly dancing costumes, jewelry, musical instruments, perfume bottles, goods containing mother of pearl of Egypt, sophisticated and beautiful wood work items, hand made Egyptian brass items, textile products etc

While shopping in Egypt you will came with bargaining experience face to face. So the best deal is to buy things from fixed price stores. But if you're good at bargaining then you can enjoy shopping in Egypt at much cheaper prices

Egypt has limited hours for shopping. During winter season: Tuesday, Wednesday, FridaY andSaturday from 0900-1900 and on Monday and Thursday from 0900-2000.
During summer season: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday-Sunday 0900-1230 and 1600-2000.
Egypt has special shopping hours during Ramadan festival.
Hours vary as shops are often closing on Sund
ay.

During the Greco-Roman period (332 BC − AD 639), Egyptian literature was translated into other languages, and Greco-Roman literature fused with native art into a new style of writing.

From this period comes the Rosetta Stone, which became the key to unlocking the mysteries of Egyptian writing to modern scholarship. The great city of Alexandria boasted its famous Library of almost half a million handwritten books during the third century BC.

Alexandria's centre of learning also produced the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, the Septuagint.

During the first few centuries of the Christian era, Egypt was the ultimate source of a great deal of ascetic literature in the Coptic language.
Egyptian monasteries translated many Greek and Syriac works, which are now only extant in Coptic. Under Islam, Egypt continued to be a great source of literary endeavour, now in the Arabic language.
In 970, al-Azhar University was founded in Cairo, which to this day remains the most important centre of Sunni Islamic learning. In 12th century Egypt, the Jewish Talmudic scholar Maimonides produced his most important work
